James E. Rauch is an American economist, academic and author. He is a professor emeritus in the Department of Economics at the University of California, San Diego.[1]
Rauch is most known for his research on international trade, economic growth and development, and urban economics. Among his authored works are his publications in academic journals, including the American Economic Review and the Quarterly Journal of Economics[2] as well as books such as Networks and Markets[3] and The Economics of the Middle East: A Comparative Approach.[4]
Rauch has served as the co-editor for the Journal of International Economics. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a fellow at the CESifo Research Network.[5]
