Howard Nathaniel Lee (born July 28, 1934) is an American politician who served as Mayor of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, from 1969 to 1975.[1] He was the first African-American mayor elected in Chapel Hill, and the first African American to be elected mayor of any majority-white city in the South.[2]
