The Howard Coble Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2014 (Pub. L.Tooltip Public Law (United States) 113–281 (text) (PDF), formerly S. 2444) is a statute of the United States that governs the activities of the United States Coast Guard (USCG), the Maritime Administration (MARAD) within the Department of Transportation, and the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).[1] The bill also would authorize appropriations totaling about $17.5 billion, primarily for ongoing USCG operations over the 2015-2016 period.[1]
The Act was introduced during the 113th United States Congress, passed the Senate and House on December 10, 2014, and was signed into law on December 18, 2014. Related bills from the U.S. House of Representatives include H.R. 4005 and H.R. 5769.
