Henry Lee Moore (1874 – 1956) was an American forger, murderer and suspected serial killer who was convicted of killing his mother and grandmother with an axe in their home.[1] While in prison, it was alleged by a Justice Department agent named W. M. McClaughry that Moore was possibly responsible for a string of unsolved axe murders in several states, among them being the Villisca axe murders.[1]
