Hells Angels MC criminal allegations and incidents in the United States information
The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club (HAMC) is designated an outlaw motorcycle gang by the Department of Justice.[1] There are an estimated 92 Hells Angels chapters in 27 U.S. states, with a membership of over 800.[2] Due to the club's designation as a "known criminal organization" by the State Department and Department of Homeland Security, the United States has a federal policy prohibiting its foreign members from entering the country.[3] The Hells Angels partake in drug trafficking, gunrunning, extortion, money laundering, insurance fraud, kidnapping, robbery, theft, counterfeiting, contraband smuggling, loan sharking, prostitution, trafficking in stolen goods, motorcycle and motorcycle parts theft, assault, murder, bombings, arson, intimidation and contract killing.[4] The club's role in the narcotics trade involves the production, transportation and distribution of marijuana and methamphetamine, in addition to the transportation and distribution of cocaine, hashish, heroin, LSD, MDMA, PCP and diverted pharmaceuticals.[2] According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the HAMC may earn up to $1 billion in drug sales annually.[5]
The Hells Angels are allied with numerous smaller motorcycle gangs – such as the Devils Diciples,[6] the Diablos,[6] El Forastero,[6] the Galloping Goose,[7] the Hessians,[1] the Iron Horsemen,[8] the Red Devils,[9] the Sons of Silence,[1] and the Warlocks[10] – and have associated in criminal ventures with the Buffalo,[1] Cleveland,[1] Gambino,[1] Genovese,[1] Los Angeles,[11] Patriarca,[12] and San Jose[11] crime families, as well as the Aryan Brotherhood,[13] the Mexican Mafia,[14] and the Nazi Lowriders.[15] Rival motorcycle gangs include the Bandidos,[16] the Breed,[17] the Mongols,[18] the Outlaws,[4] the Pagans,[4] the Sons of Satan,[19] and the Vagos.[20]
