Dr. Halla Diyab is British[1] Libyan-born award-winning[2] screenwriter, author,[3] producer,[4] broadcaster[5] and TV commentator on British media[6] and has recently appeared on Channel 4 News,[7] BBC Newsnight,[8] CNN,[9] Sky News,[10] Channel 5 News,[11] ITV Central,[12] Al-Jazeera English,[13][14] STV Scotland Tonight[15] and BBC Radio 4.[16] She is also an author and analyst at The Jamestown Foundation[17] monthly subscription-based "Militant Leadership Monitor".[18] Diyab is a columnist at al-Arabiya English News,[19] writing on Syria,[20] ISIS[21] and Middle East political affairs.[22] She has also written several successful Arab soap operas[23] and produced several documentaries[24] which have been aired across the Middle East, Europe and the UK,[25] and have featured in international film festivals. She worked as a TV presenter on Rotana Cinema TV Channel co-hosting the Egyptian talk show Lady of Ladies[26] as well as holding a regular guest spot on Egypt's Hala Sarhan Show.[27] Recently she hosted a weekly talk show from London on ANB TV[28] in London. She also hosted Syria on the Table TV[29] talk show series. Diyab was listed in Aliqtisadi Magazine as one of the most influential women in Syria for 2011.[30] She was profiled in the "Women Like Us" exhibition that celebrated inspirational Muslim women. She is also the Founder and the Director of Liberty Media Productions[31] which focuses on cross-cultural issues between Britain and the Middle East. Diyab is a public speaker who spoke at the House of Commons,[32] the Spectator Debate[33], Leicester National Interfaith Week,[34] Uniting for Peace[35] and London's Frontline Club.[36] As well as working in the British media, she has worked in Libya,[37] Egypt, Saudi Arabia,[38] and Syria and is an expert on the Middle East and Islamic culture.[39][40]
