Female Hebrew Benevolent Society of Philadelphia information
Female Hebrew Benevolent Society of Philadelphia is an American non-profit organization in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is the oldest Jewish charity in the city, and the "oldest Jewish charitable organization in continuous existence in the U.S."[1] The women comprising the Board of Managers accomplish their work quietly but effectively. The division of the city into districts, each being in charge of different managers, enables the Society to administer its charity to needy Jews in different localities.[2]
