European rabbit in New Zealand information


European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) were first introduced to New Zealand in the 1830s.[1] They are found in most areas of New Zealand,[2] and are considered to be one of the worst ecological and agricultural pests in the country.[3][4]
