The Normal station of the Mexico City Metro was the scene of The Halconazo, the name given to the Corpus Thursday Massacre in 1971 in Mexico City.

The Corpus Christi Massacre or El Halconazo ([el alkoˈnaso], "The Hawk Strike", so called because of the participation of a government-trained paramilitary group known as Los Halcones) was a massacre of student demonstrators during the Mexican Dirty War in Mexico City on 10 June 1971, the day of the Corpus Christi festival.[citation needed] Nearly 120 protesters were killed, among them a 14-year-old boy.[1]
