Demetre C. Daskalakis (born 1972/1973)[1] is an American physician and gay health activist serving as director of the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention in the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention since 2020. In 2022, the administration of Joe Biden appointed him the White House National Monkeypox Response Deputy Coordinator.
