Charles Browne Hardwicke (1788 - 1880)

Captain Charles Browne Hardwicke (1788–1880)[1] was an English explorer, later a farmer. He was born in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire. He settled in Launceston, Tasmania in 1816. He is best known for his claim that Tasmania's north-west coast was "quite impenetrable and totally uninhabitable".
