Charles Brinckerhoff Richards (December 23, 1835 – April 20, 1919) was an engineer who worked for Colt's Patent Fire Arms Co., where he was responsible for the development of the Colt Single Action Army revolver.[1] Richards was a founder of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a professor at Yale University where he taught for 25 years.[2]
