Bystrinsky District (Russian: Быстри́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion) of Kamchatka Krai, Russia, one of the eleven in the krai. It is located in the southern central part of the krai. The area of the district is 23,377 square kilometers (9,026 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Esso.[1] Population: 2,560 (2010 Russian census);[3] 2,660 (2002 Census);[6] 2,947 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Esso accounts for 78.6% of the district's total population.[3]
