Laetentur Caeli: Bulla Unionis Graecorum[1][note 1] (English: Let the Heavens Rejoice:[2] Bull of Union with the Greeks) was a papal bull issued on 6 July 1439[1] by Pope Eugene IV at the Council of Ferrara-Florence. It officially reunited the Catholic Church with the Eastern Orthodox Church, temporarily ending the East–West Schism; however, it was repudiated by most eastern bishops shortly thereafter.[3] The incipit of the bull (also used as its title) is derived from Psalms 95:11[1] in the Vulgate Bible.
