Bubu Eklund (née Munshi, born: 11 March 1951) is a Bengali singer and exponent of Rabindra Sangeet based in Lund, Sweden where she leads the Lund India Choir through which she plays a significant role in the spread of Rabindra Sangeet and the ideologies of Rabindranath Tagore in Sweden.[1] She has been a student of legendary Rabindra Sangeet exponents Suchitra Mitra and Kanika Bandopadhyay while attending the Rabitirtha Institute in Kolkata, India. She is the daughter of noted Indian painter and commercial artist Annada Munshi and Jayati Devi, the first Bengali lady to appear as the model in any advertising venture of the Tea Board in India.[1][2][3] Her major breakthrough was the series of concerts titled A Swedish View of Rabindranath Tagore, along with Per Olov Henricson.[4] Eklund started the International Tagore Choir in Lund with her husband Lars Eklund in 2011, where Swedish people are trained to sing Rabindra Sangeet. She lives in Lund, Sweden from 1983 with her husband Lars Eklund.[1][5]
