Bernard Lens III (27 May 1682 – 24 December 1740) was an English artist known primarily for his portrait miniatures. Lens was the miniature painter at the courts of kings George I and George II,[1] instructor in miniature painting (then called limning)[2] to prince William[3] and princesses Mary[2][3] and Louise[3] and consultant in fine arts to upper-class families.[1]
