The Belgrade bypass (Serbian: Обилазница око Београда, romanized: Obilaznica oko Beograda) or Belgrade city road bypass[1] is a U-shaped, 78-km long motorway partially encircling the city of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
The construction of the bypass started in 1991 and its parts have been sporadically built ever since.[2] Its completion is expected to help alleviate Belgrade's traffic congestion, and remove all transit traffic from the city itself. As of June 2023, two (out of three) sectors are fully completed and motorway has length of 48 kilometers.[3]
