Automotive Industry Standards information


The Automotive Industry Standards are the automotive technical specifications of India.[1] They are based on the Central Motors Vehicles Regulations, 1989 (CMVR). All safety norms prescribed under the CMVR 1989 was based on the UN/European Regulations which are internationally accepted.[2]Enforcement of provision of CMV Act and CMV Rules come under the purview of the State Governments/UTs.
