On March 20, 2020, the party suspended the election indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Quebec.[2] On May 11, 2020, candidate Alexandre Cusson withdrew from the race and after a meeting of the party's executive committee, the sole remaining candidate, Dominique Anglade, was selected as leader by acclamation.[3]
