The 2013 UIM F1 H2O World Championship was the 30th season of Formula 1 Powerboat racing. For the first time in the championship's history, there was an event held in South America, with the first race of the year taking place in Brasilia on 1 and 2 June.[1][2] In addition, the series' 250th race since it began in 1981 took place on 2 October at the Grand Prix of China in Liuzhou.
Alex Carella, driving for the Qatar Team, successfully defended his world championship for the second year in a row, ensuring he became only the second driver in the history of the championship to win three consecutive world titles, after Guido Cappellini.[3]
