The 2002 African Badminton Championships were the continental badminton championships to crown the best players and teams across Africa. The tournament was held at the Mohammed V Indoor Sport Complex in Casablanca, Morocco, from 15 to 21 July 2002.[1]
In the team event, South Africa defeated Nigeria in the final while Mauritius defeated Seychelles in the third place play-off.[2] Seychelles also won their first ever gold medal at the championships with Juliette Ah-Wan winning the women's singles title.[3]
