The 1948 Humboldt State Lumberjacks football team represented Humboldt State College—now known as California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt—as a member of the Far Western Conference (FWC) during the 1948 college football season. Led by Lou Tsoutsouvas in his first and only season as head coach, the Lumberjacks compiled an overall record of 6–3 with a mark of 1–3 in conference play, tying for fourth place in the FWC, and outscored their opponents 145–48 for the season. The team played home games at the Redwood Bowl in Arcata, California.
