The 1918 Rio de Janeiro anarchist insurrection was an unsuccessful attempt at overthrowing the federal government and the establishment of a self-managed society, based on the anarcho-syndicalist models of decentralized organizations and trade unions.[1] It was inspired by the events of the Russian Revolution.
