Many such DVDs have been created by award-winning authors and teachers, who have taken the time to carefully document the steps involved in each of their classes.

Most people familiar with the practice of hatha yoga are familiar with the Ashtanga or power yoga styles. The term Hatha Yoga, however, refers to a whole different genre of yoga that originated in the 19th century. Unlike the Ashtanga styles, which usually last for only ten minutes, Hatha Yoga consists of a series of more than 500 postures that can last up to three hours. It is this long duration that helps Hatha Yoga gives practitioners a much deeper understanding of the spiritual essence of this ancient art. Most beginners to the practice of hatha yoga find that mastering the various asanas takes time and practice, but once they master them, they can turn this knowledge into a lucrative business opportunity.
