Sophia Yilma (Amharic: ሶፍያ ይልማ, born 2 October 1942) is an Ethiopian journalist and politician. As the first female reporter for the Ethiopian Herald, Sophia was a pioneer in Ethiopian journalism, and rose to occupy important positions in both the Herald and the government. Later, following the Ethiopian Revolution and Civil War, she became a senior leader of the Ethiopian Democratic Party, and is currently its Vice-President.
