Slapy Reservoir (Czech: vodní nádrž Slapy) is a reservoir on the Vltava river in the Czech Republic, near to village Slapy. With an area 11.626 square kilometres (4.489 sq mi), it is the sixth biggest reservoir in the country. It was built as part of Vltava cascade in the years 1949–1955.[1] It has a hydroeletrics power station included. It is located approximately 30 kilometres (19 mi) from capital city Prague, so it is used for recreation too.[2]
