Artificial eyes will also simulate human breath, and man-made muscles will allow them to mimic facial expressions.
China has already committed massive amounts of money to robotics development. The government’s Robotics Industry Development Plan, part of the Made in China 2025 initiative, aims to see ten-fold increase in robotics adoption by 2025. To attract investment, many provincial governments provide generous subsidies to firms looking to purchase robots. However, many of these reported figures are questionable, as provinces have incentives to inflate these numbers to earn favor from the national government.
Ultimately, robotics will help us get more work done with less work. Robots can drill, weld, paint, and handle dangerous materials without fatigue. Unlike human workers, robots can also handle tasks that humans aren’t good at, such as handling toxic materials and dangerous setups. And while robots may not replace human jobs, they do save our economy and our jobs! And, as a bonus, we won’t have to worry about compensations and layoffs.
